Media Mayhem: The Hidden Truths

Welcome back to my blog, where we dive into the truth, the history, and the meaning behind the newspaper articles. And in this edition, we will be doing a report on the second most recent article “Witch Report” issue 114.

While reading the news article I got truly inspired to do an article of my own with some interviews from the villagers, and hopefully from the accused herself. So quickly I packed and set off to Carnforth.

Upon my arrival, I found that to my luck the trial still had not happened. “Perfect,” I thought, and I soon made my way over to the local shops where I had hoped to conduct some interviews.

Once I reached the shops I found more than enough villagers and I started asking my questions. While conducting my interviews I found some interesting news. Apparently, the accused was a new villager who had only lived here for a year, she was also really liked by most of the villagers! A couple even said that she had helped give them some much-needed supplies, though they did not go into much detail. And many more had said that they did not know what had happened for the accused to confess.

With this information, I decided to speak to the accused herself, who had informed me that she was accused due to two stray cats that she was trying to feed.

Now tell me, should this woman, or any woman for that matter really be on trial for feeding a couple of cats? Is this what the Pope meant when he denounced witchcraft?
