Hello, and welcome back to our weekly blog where twice a week we will get to embark on a new adventure through history together.

In the last article, we talked about the amazing and talented artist: Michelangelo. Who painted the Sistine Chapel Ceiling, and The Statue of an Angel, or how about the sculpture “Brutus” If you have not had a chance to look at that article I would suggest going and taking a look at it.

In this article, we will be looking over some of the talented art of Leonardo Da Vinci.

A bit about the artist

Leonardo di ser pieroda vinci, or rather Leonardo Da Vinci was an active painter, draughtsman, engineer, sculptor, and architect. He is identified as one of the greatest painters in the history of western art despite having lost and unfinished art, he created some of the most influential paintings in the western canon.

Leonardo da Vinci Died at Clos Luce on May 2nd 1519 at the age of 67.

There is also a legend saying that the king held Leonardo Da Vinci’s head as he passed away.

Onto the art gallery

The art of Leonardo Da Vinci is truely remarkable, and one of a kind. There was nothing like his art anywhere else in the world.

The first art piece we will be looking at is called "Head of a Girl"

The drawing is a portrait that was made in 1483, the medium used is silverpoint and highlights on prepared paper and it’s currently at The Royal Library of Turin.

The second art we will look at today is called “La Belle Ferronniere”

La Belle ferronniere is a portrait of a lady that is currently sitting in the Louvre Museum, it is also known as the portrait of an unknown woman. It was painted between 1490 and 1406 and the medium used is oil and wood.
