We will be talking today about...The battle of Flodden!
 

When and where was the battle of Floddden?



The battle of Flodden which was also called Flodden field, or occasionaly Branxton and sometimes even Brainston moor. Anyway! on September 9th 1513 there was a war between the kingdom of England and the kingdom of Scotland.  

The battle was fought near Branxton, in the country of Northumberland.
 

How did the battle of Flodden start?



Well! the battle began with a dual followed by downhill advances by the Scottish infantry whom was all armed with pikes.  

But! unknowingly to the Scotsthere was nothing but an area of marshy land was in their path, which ended up breaking up their formations.

What was the aftermath of the battle of Flodden?

  After the battle the council of Scotland decided to send help from Christian II of Denmark.   While the Scottish Ambassador Andrew Brounhill was given instructions to explain what had happened. Brounhill's instructions favoered the Scottish, the letter also mentions that the Scots placed their officers in the front medieval style whereas the English stayed in the Rennaissance style.
