Hello, and welcome back to our weekly blog where twice a week we will get to embark on a new adventure through history together.

In this article I would like to talk about something that has interested me for awhile, this is...Bridgerton outfits!!

Bridgerton clothes

The dresses in Bridgerton are inspired from the Regency era with using a modern flair, they often are very bright colorful clothes that are both solid colored and also patterned.

The silhouettes are elegant usually with a square neckline, an empire waist, and a floor-legnthed skirt.

The details are puffed sleves as well as capped sleves. The fabrics are usually silk and lace, with various colors and patterns. The men wear well-tailored suits, waistcoats, and various accesseories that are practical and show their status. The suits have clean lines, precise collars, with small buttons. The waistcoats are often blue or turquoise, with many details. And they also wore suspenders and cravats (a short scarf necktie that is worn around the neck and tcuked into their shirt collar)

What do they look like?

This dress is light blue with a beautiful lace pattern.

These dresses one is more light purple with lace, and the other is two different shades of purple, the details are so beautiful.

The last picture shows a man riding a horse, with a well tailored purple suit, it shows the cravat as well as the waistcoat and boots.

The outfits in the Bridgerton series are not only beautiful but they were made with thoughts on the accuracy of the clothes that were worn in the Regency era, the way they turned those style of dresses into a more modern flair is truely breathtaking.
