Torrance Coombs, a talented Canadian actor, has made his mark in various popular TV series, including Heartland, Endgame, and Reign. He later joined the cast of The Originals in their final season, further cementing his place in the entertainment industry. Coombs is perhaps best known for his roles as Thomas Culpepper in The Tudors(2007–2010) and Sebastian "Bash" de Poitiers in Reign.
 

 

Torrance Coombs: Early beginnings

Coombs’ love for performance began early. In grade school, he joined the choir to break out of his shell, eventually leading him to land his first acting role in a school production of Cats as the charismatic tail-swinging Rum Tum Tugger in the school production of Cats. In his determination to truly “nail” the character, Coombs studied videos of Elvis Presley in concert to prepare for the role.

 

Making History: Torrance Coombs' Iconic Roles

In 2010, Coombs secured the role of Thomas Culpepper in Showtime’s The Tudors , marking his foray into historical drama. He later returned to Ireland to film Reign, where he portrayed Sebastian "Bash" de Poitiers, the illegitimate son of King Henry II of France. Reign brought Coombs widespread recognition, with a nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Drama TV Series at the 2014 Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

 

 

The Social Media Surge: Torrance Coombs' Growing Fanbase

Coombs' popularity soared with the success of Reign. “When Reign started, I had 7,000 followers and now I have, I think, 85,000,” he shared in an interview. His social media following reflected his rising fame, and he began to notice being recognized more often in public spaces, especially in places like shopping malls. Despite the newfound attention, Coombs found his fans to be respectful and sweet, which he deeply appreciated.

Coombs also enjoys interacting with fans through live-tweeting during shows. “It’s fun. Coming from a theater background, you’re used to that interaction with an audience,” Coombs explained
